Big Grove Brewery Bringing Taproom to Former Macy’s in Prairie Village

Iowa’s Big Grove Brewery is expanding into the Kansas City metro with plans to open a new taproom and brewery in Prairie Village, Kansas, by the first half of 2026. The location will be inside the former Macy’s at the Shops at Prairie Village, which closed in 2020, marking the company’s first site in a suburban neighborhood rather than a downtown setting.

Founded in Solon, Iowa, in 2013, Big Grove has grown into the state’s second-largest brewery with popular beers like Easy Eddy IPA and taprooms in Iowa City, Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, and soon Omaha.

CEO Matt Swift said the Prairie Village location felt like a natural fit, highlighting the company’s focus on hospitality and community-driven spaces while continuing its regional expansion.

Chiefs, Eagles Set for Super Bowl Rematch at Arrowhead

The Kansas City Chiefs host the Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday at 3:25 p.m. CT at Arrowhead Stadium in a highly anticipated Week 2 matchup, a rematch of the Eagles’ 40-22 Super Bowl victory.

Jalen Hurts, who has led Philadelphia to 17 wins in their last 18 games, remains a major threat after accounting for three touchdowns in that championship game. Meanwhile, the Chiefs ride a 12-game home winning streak behind Patrick Mahomes, who is closing in on Peyton Manning’s record for most touchdown passes in a player’s first nine seasons.

With deep coaching and player ties between both teams, dominant recent performances on both sides of the ball, and Travis Kelce fresh off setting the tight end receiving record, this clash promises to be one of the season’s biggest showdowns.
