Lee's Summit To Build One Of Missouri's Largest Youth Sports Centers

The Lee’s Summit City Council has approved a $48 million youth sports complex called View High Sports & Entertainment, to be developed by 3D Builders KC.

Set to become one of Missouri’s largest indoor youth sports venues, the 180,000-square-foot facility will feature a FIFA-regulation soccer field, eight basketball courts, a 7,500-square-foot training center, and more.

Located at 3350 NW Ashurst Drive, the complex aims to enhance youth sports, community engagement, and wellness across the Kansas City metro. Groundbreaking is planned for fall 2025, with completion expected by fall 2026.

Commissioner Jason Withington shared the update on social media, calling it a significant development but emphasizing that negotiations are still in the early stages. While North Kansas City is now a frontrunner, other potential sites remain in the mix, including Downtown KCMO, Overland Park, and KCK. The Royals have made it clear they plan to leave Kauffman Stadium once their lease ends, which is set to expire ahead of the 2031 season.
