Port KC Advances $480M Mixed-Use Development at 800 Grand
Port KC is moving forward with a major downtown Kansas City development at 800 and 818 Grand Avenue, approving up to $480 million in bonds and partnering with developer 800 Grand KCMO LLC.
Spanning five years and two phases, the project will include a 167-room UMusic-branded hotel inside the historic Scarritt Building, 319 new apartments, 28,000 square feet of retail space, and a 1,400-seat music venue. Port KC officials describe it as a blend of historic preservation and modern growth, aiming to revitalize the Grand corridor and strengthen the city’s urban core.

U.S. Women’s National Team Will Play for the First Time at CPKC Stadium
The U.S. Women’s National Team will play at Kansas City’s CPKC Stadium for the first time on October 29, 2025, marking a major milestone in women’s sports. The match, part of the USWNT’s fall international window, will be broadcast nationally and celebrates the world’s first stadium built exclusively for a women’s pro team. Opened in 2024, CPKC Stadium—home of the KC Current—has quickly become a symbol of progress and passion for women’s soccer. Ticket presales begin July 29 for season ticket holders, with general public sales opening August 1.
