Port KC Advances $480M Mixed-Use Development at 800 Grand

Port KC is moving forward with a major downtown Kansas City development at 800 and 818 Grand Avenue, approving up to $480 million in bonds and partnering with developer 800 Grand KCMO LLC.

Spanning five years and two phases, the project will include a 167-room UMusic-branded hotel inside the historic Scarritt Building, 319 new apartments, 28,000 square feet of retail space, and a 1,400-seat music venue. Port KC officials describe it as a blend of historic preservation and modern growth, aiming to revitalize the Grand corridor and strengthen the city’s urban core.

The U.S. Women’s National Team will play at Kansas City’s CPKC Stadium for the first time on October 29, 2025, marking a major milestone in women’s sports.
