$74M Workforce Center Coming to Northland with $25M Boost from Kansas City
Big News for KC’s Workforce Future 🚀
Kansas City is investing $25 million in a brand-new, state-of-the-art Northland Workforce Development Center—a $74 million project designed to train students and adults for careers in healthcare, construction, logistics, and advanced manufacturing.
Thanks to strong support from both the city and state (Missouri is contributing $37 million), this new center will replace the current Platte City campus and offer modern labs, updated classrooms, and expanded programs.
City leaders say this investment is all about building Kansas City’s long-term economic future—by preparing our workforce and giving more people access to career training.
Bonus: The center will also host community events, job fairs, and city-led training. Plus, there are plans in the works for satellite locations to make access even easier.
👷♀️📚🚚 The future of work in KC just got a serious upgrade.
