KU Cancer Center Breaks Ground on Transformative New Cancer Complex
On May 23, 2025, the University of Kansas Cancer Center broke ground on a new complex that will combine research, clinical care, and advanced therapies in one location for the first time.
Located at 39th and Rainbow in Kansas City, the facility will feature real-time collaboration between physicians and researchers, faster access to personalized treatments, and an in-house CAR T-cell therapy lab.
Backed by a historic $100 million gift from the Sunderland Foundation and other funding sources, the project builds on KU’s NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center status and aims to become a global leader in cancer care and research.
Kansas City to Host Home Run Derby X at Kauffman Stadium
